The product differences from analogues

The proposed production has the following differences from the known granulated foamed glass:

  • Increased silicate modulus of the material (the ratio of SiO2/Na2O) and as a result the improved water resistance, resistance to alkali-silica reaction and silica destruction
  • The equal prime cost of any ordered fractions, including fine fractions beginning from 0.1 mm
  • Any color according the customer's request

  • Various types of raw materials such as glass cullet (including off-grade) and natural silicate (diatomite, tripoli, flask, zeolites) are possible
  • Absence of energy-intensive drying towers for the manufacture of a fine fraction raw granules
  • Manufacture of narrow specified granules fraction including fine granules and excluding improper granules fractions
  • Available and maintainable equipment is applied
  • High cost and hard-to-reach components are absence in raw materials
  • The relatively low cost of the products obtained in the range from 40 up to 60 €/m3 including fine granules (it depends on raw materials type, manufacture productivity and type of products)

Applications

Light weight granules are used as heat insulation material and lightweight filler for construction mixes, concretes and plasters manufacture is proposed. The technology has been tested by the author in a pilot scale and in industrial scale.
